outside temp gauge

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

my cabin outside temp gauge seems to be having issues. it was like 100 degrees ouside today and the gauge was reading 78 degrees. i don't often check the temp but today was a scorcher and was curious. the news said an even 100. i had mentioned this to the dealer a while ago with a similar situation and they said " well just drive around for a while it, should change as you drive a little." does anyone know of the exacts of how this gauge is set up or functions???

I had an issue where it was 90-95 out and my gueage stayed at 70. Drove around for a while and after about 30 minutes, it finally made it up to the right temp. No problems after that.

The cars I work on need to see a speed of 45mph+ for about 5 miles before it'll "reset" itself. This occurs everytime the vehicle is parked for extended periods 1+ days. And sometimes when it just feels like it.
Don't know if the Z is the same but I'd imagine it should be similar.

I have a new Chrysler 300C that I am having the same problem with. Dealer told me to bring it in this comming Monday as there is a TSB out to fix it. Maybe there is one on the "Z" also?

Mine skyrockets after sitting in the sun all day at work - usually 100+ - and then never does go down to the actual ambient temp. But I could care less; I know when it is hot outside, and it seems to work fine in the cooler weather.
