question for jjgdyr

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hey I have a question for jjgdyr. I currently run Firestone wide oval's in the rear and so far (although a bit noisy) have been great for what I need them for, daily driver occasional 1/4 mile track use. a little fun w/ other cars on road etc. I need fronts now and they dont make that tire for my fronts, Ive been looking at the new goodyear Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology. How would you rate those compared to the wide ovals and would you recomend them for the Z in the fronts. thanks for input.

new eagle response is truly amazing tire.
i had an opportunity to try the tires on a closed course.
on the course there was an area covered in heavy water. these tires pushed through them like a hot knife through butter. really excellent rain tires.
very smooth and extremely quiet. tire has a very unique tread design that give great grip in wet and dry! tires also incorporate a layer of KEVLAR belting. the kevlar serves 2 purposes. it acts as a dampening agent and soaks up road noise. 2nd, it acts as a cushion to give the car/tire a smoother ride!
because of the new tread design i don't know exactly how the tire will wear in the long run. but i figure that with the z's negative camber built into the alignment, it will cause most tires to wear on the inside shoulder.
if i had a 350 w/ 17's, this would be a natural choice for me.
also, consider running some bigger tires on both the frt and rears.
i recommend running 245/45/17 on frt and 255/45/17 on rears.
