A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Here are some pics I have had on my PC for a while but those new to the Z may not be aware of the versions Nissan was working with before going production.
The first pic is the oldest, dating back to 1999 I believe. It is a pretty good clone of the old Zs.
The second and third pics show a Z with Porche like exhaust and blinkers in the side mirrors. Notice the LED parking lights up front.
The forth and fifth pic are of the concept just before its last refinements. The front bumper is way huge and the back has different blinkers and small exhaust, with no antenna. They decided on the reflectors where the LEDs once were to break up that massive area I would guess.

To see some of these pics blown up where you can really see some closeups of the detail:

those pics are way old, but always a joy to look at. I wish they would have kept those rims. I love those rims.those are hot.

The rims are hot, but I prefer the whole wheel. Those wheels look really good.

URF!! "If that's the new Z, I'll pass."
But Nissan kept at it and developed the 350Z. Huzzah!!

Why can't Nissan do as Porsche have done with the 911 and continually develop the S30 series. Imagine what a great looking car that would have turned into after all these years.
If only someone had access to the original tooling to reproduce the S30 body shell; I would gladly hand over my '03 for a brand new '78 with skinny bumpers and a badass RB series inline six. While they were at it why not reproduce the Jaguar XKE to go along with an S30.
Somebody call Mosler Automotive; a few years back they were recreating a '65/'66 Mustang fastback but, with a fox chassis and modern running gear.
