Ignorant question re:feathering

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Will replacing rims/tires with different dimensions than stock (maybe less offset) prevent feathering???
Thanks
A:

It may slow the process a little. Depending on the tire compound. However, feathering is due to an alignment issue and not tire issue.
A:

i have been on these forums (and my350z.com) for like two years and i've never seen anyone report any mods that have eliminated feathering.
A:

Nor does alignment fix the issue. I agree it is an "alignment issue," however what ever the hell the engineers at Nissan are doing with their test cars is sure as hell not working.
7 alignments in 9400 miles (40 days in the shop for alignment alone), and my car is at the shop now getting its tires replaced.

Has anyone ever tried putting a camber correction kit on the front? Do you guys think this would help the feathering?

What camber correction kit are you asking about?

there isnt one, just a rumor that one is forthcoming, (from nissan). I'll believe it when i see it. Sounds like a fairy tale to me.
A:

I had my alignment done once at 13k miles and had the front tires replaced at that time for free. I now have 23k miles and have no feathering on my new tires.
I am wondering if there is going to be feathering very soon.

even if there is a control arm fix coming that allows camber adjustments, camber misalignment doesn't cause heel-to cupping. good, concise summary of tire wear symptoms and their causes at:
