A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Just wanted to throw this question out there because there is something about the RPM's at which the car idles that has been bothering me for a while.
If I remember correctly my car use to idle at ~750sh but then after having the fuel induction service done to my car at 30,000 miles my car started idling at ~1100. Even when warmed up. I took it back to the dealership for other reasons and told them to check it out. They hook it up the the computer or what ever they do and the master mechanic said that nothing appeared out of the compliance. I car fells a bit faster after the service but thats just what my but dyno tells me.
My question is has anyone else had or heard of such a problem with idling that high and should I be worried?
I had the
Injen exhaust
injen CIA
Grounding wires
Now I'v added the
Pulley
Plenum
and soon the test pipes
and the idle is still high
Thanks
David

My ' 02 Maxima ( 3.5L ) and Z idle in the ~ 550 to 750sh range. In fact, once I complained to Nissan service because I thought that the idle speed seemed too low. They assured me that this low idle speed is normal.

Thanks, I'll take it back soon. I'm up for another oil change anyways.
I just performed the resetting of the ecu (the 24 hr way) by disconecting the battery. Lets see if this changes anything. Thankfully my car is not an auto.
Technosquare also has very detailed instructions on:
Resetting the ECU
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning &
Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Positionin Learning)
Maybe I'll try one of these if the dealership can't do anyhting about it.
