Are the 350Z shifters leather? If so i want one for my 240 SX.

Umm.... the 350z has a wierd designed shift knob... plus why would want a knob that has a diagram of 6 forward gears for your 5 in your 240??

Also the aluminum diagram burns the hell out of your palm on hot days. The shift knob is wrapped in leather.

Alright. I didnt know it had a diagram of 6 gears. I have a 5 speed and its not on my knob. I just want a good quality leather knob that looks factory or is Nissan. Thanks though

I actually did this very thing last month from a fellow board member here :-)
When I got my used Z, the previous owner obviously wore a ring because the metal finish was scratched up and starting to chipping off.
The dealer wants $100 or more so a fellow member here sold me his for $55 shipped. Great deal as my original shifter was the only sore spot on my Z when I got it...pretty mint otherwise.

Hey Mark, what a neat post...I didn't even realize I had a defective shifter until panman pointed it out. I'm relieved that these blisters in the center of my palm are actually from the shifter. (I don't want to be picking up any bad habits.) It gets so hot sometimes I find myself speedshifting with thumb and forefinger! I'll let you have my OEM if you give me a good quality solid black leather 350 knob without the aluminum insert.

I hope the tire issue gets fixed. Are you talking about the new suspension pieces mentioned on this board? RK is checking on the tire issue. I am using the black leather NISMO shift knob now. I am also running a Rogue short shift kit. Shortens the shift action but makes it a little stiffer. I am thinking the taller OEM knob will lessen the effort a tad. Already ordered an OEM knob to test out. If I end up with the OEM knob you are welcome to try my leather NISMO shift knob. I think I gave $40 for it. The Konis & 350Evo sway bars have improved the cars handling/ride quite a bit!

A clean sock over the shifter helps. Great use for those single socks that have lost their mates.
