Something happened with new car is still bad luck

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I drive 35 miles to work everyday (except Saturday and Sunday).
One day, my nice and beautiful car needs to be fixed (still under warranty) due to the unexpected mechanical problem.
I know it could get worst and worst if I don't take care of it immediately (nissan won't like it either if problem left for too long unfixed, friends also tell me to report this problem immediately). So, I went to the dealer to get it fixed.
The problem could be difficult to fixed/detect, that's ok; I could wait or come on a later day. At least I notified them that there is something not right with my baby. Nissan has a good job in serving the customer.
According to the dealer it takes one whole day to fix the problem, and during the repair I need to drop the car early in the morning (Saturday, Sunday is not available) and pick up later during the day (they will call me). That's very normal. Bad luck is that I don't have my nice expensive car at that day, which is ok.
But the thing that I just learned that I don't like is: During the repair nissan won't necessarily provide me the small rental compact car. (It’s not happened yet, but this could happened), they could decide and just give me a shuttle ride 35 miles away to work, and later when my car is fixed, they will bus me and give me another ride back to their shop to pick my car (not sure, how this work). But is this normal? Anyone had experienced this before?
The problem is:
I need to do my daily routine work, in the middle of the day I need to go to the doctor and as part of my job I need to pick up documents 15 minutes away from my work place, but I don't have a car. What should I do or I could lose my job. It looks like there is a time I am obligated to pay the rental car with my own money? (Even though the car is still under warranty)
The worst part is: I notice they don't have any shuttle bus, means I have to travel using the public bus / train 35 miles away to work and reimburse later (will take 3 hours one way, includes transit and walking distance).

That sounds normal to me. I am lucky. I work 1 mile away from the dealer. You can plead your case with the service manager. He has the power to get you a rental car. Either the dealer pays for it or Nissan pays for it. I'm sure there is another dealer closer to your work or near your dealer. I'd pay $30 for one day to get your business.

This is normal my friend....typically a car dealer won't provide you a rental unless you car will be in the shop for longer than 3 days. Just rent a car on your own or try asking for a reduced rental rate thru the dealer (ask the manager). Good luck!

Get used to it. In my area dealers ( not just Nissan ) offer a shuttle ride ONE WAY to your home or work and it must be local. You arrange for transportation back to the dealer on your own. You are dreaming if you think that these dealers will willingly provide a 1-day rental for a 1-day service OR shuttle you 35 miles !

Ive never asked for a rental or loaner car. I guess because I work in retail and warranty doesnt mean 'loaner' automatically, no matter the product.
If the warranty problem takes days Im sure the dealer would hand over on of their program cars but just a same day service job? Theres no one I know of that can't find time to leave a car for a afternoon without their life caving in.
Do it on your day off.

Thanks you all guys, I understand it now.
I was only confused because one of the guy who works there described me about the rental issue during my visit to the dealer about 2 days ago.
That happened not to be the day I need the car to be fixed because of some other reason, but I know now what to expect when I come to the dealer next time for the repair. Prepare for the rental fee.
Actually Nissan dealer near me had done a good job or service, and I was given the rental car already twice: Once during the feathering problem, and once because of the gear bearing noise problem.
Thanks again for the info
