A&Q about 350Z
Q:
My 350 has 7000 miles on it to date and the inside of the tailpipes are very clean. I pollished them shortly after I got the car and they have stayed nice. The inside of the pipe looks just like the the chome tip.
A:
I noticed some black soot but nothing excessive. How do I clean the inside and outside to get rid of the soot?
A:
soap and water works fine for me
A:
I polished with a product called semi-chrome paste, then I wax them inside and out every time I wax the car. They stay clean and look great.
A:
you're kidding right? you're not an absolute butthole, right? you are burning fossil fuel , what does that make?
A:
Glad,
I have a stock exhaust system. Mine are pretty black on the inside.
I consider the soot a badge of courage. If you drive like your Grandma, then maybe they will stay clean.

A:
soot is a good thing it means you are burning at a high enought temp. that the carbon is not building up in your engine
