2005 350 Z's

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

when anyone finds out anything that will be new for the 2005's please post. I am hoping for increase in horsepower, maybe some new colors, and of course, no more feathering, which I believe the Euro-suspension has fixed for the 04's that got it anyhow. And does anyone have an opinion on the new Meguires Nxt Generation wax/polish or Eagle One's new micro-wax or whatever they are called, or should I just order Zaino's through the mail. If these two waxes seem to give a glass-like effect over the paint, it would be cheaper than ordering Zaino's through the mail. Thanks !

I think the NXT is pretty good. The polish is nice and the detail spray is pretty good as well. I like the fact that they don't leave any false shadows. They are a polymer rather then a carnuba so they don't burn off in a matter of a day in the hot sun. I would definitely give them a try if I were you. I have and liked what I saw. Make sure you get some Micro Fiber rags to do your detailing with. It makes removing the polish so much easier and the job looks better too.

I can second the vouch for NXT.
I use it as a 4th coat. After I spent a good 4 hrs on my first detailing job, the car looked better than showroom. Check out my sig for the first 3 coats.
Don't overlook the importance of the wash as well... if your car isn't clean, then waxing will do more harm than good.
Look into getting a clay bar as well for stuff that just doesn't come off in the wash.
Check out www.autopia.org for everything detailing related. Where I started...

I think the only changes in store for the Z is a few new colors.

The 2005 G35 sport coupe will get 295HP in 2005 ...
Nissan better up the HP of the 350Z to at least 300HP, not just add a few new colors.

I think it should have 350 horsepower to go with the 350 in the name....it's just not yet fast and powerful enough.

Those options are being worked on by Detroit as we speak.

This is what I read on what's new
ZNews........ The 2005 Z-cars get several upgrades. Nissan answers critics by replacing cheap-looking interior trim with better-quality stuff, including soft-touch material on the dashboard and console.
Also added are lower-dashboard knee pads, a padded console armrest, redesigned automatic shifter, and shoulder-belt "service arms" that eliminate the need to reach behind when buckling up.
There's a sturdier center-dashboard lid too, with power operation on cars with optional navigation. Finally, the '05 Zs adopt Euro-market suspension calibrations said to give a smoother ride, plus a tandem brake booster to replace a single master cylinder.
Nissan has hinted at more available power and other enhancements for future Zs. The most likely, are a supercharger option, possibly by 2006, and available all-wheel drive borrowed from the platform-related Infiniti G35 sedan.
