The noise is from the tires wearing on the inside edge. This affects the front tires only. It is being called "feathering." Nissan is well aware of the problem and should provide you with new front tires, free. You can explore more into it if you like by searching the thousands of posts on this and other Z sites. If you had heard the squealing and grinding when I braked you wouldn't have questioned it either.
The rotors had to be re-machined too.

Break squeel is annoying, specially when you coming to a stop and the honda next to you stops without any squeel. I attribute this to the dust getting in between the back plate of the pads. This happens the same way in my bimmer. As long as it stops, I'm happy I guess. I'll be upgrading to drilled rotors and Hawk pads when brake time comes again. I will also do the brakes myself.

nope Zedx... it was mere coincidence that she just happened to be a little schoolgirl... :-)
thats a shame zope that you had to get the rotors turned as well...
I think I would have applied that money to better rotors as opposed to getting the stock ones turned. Atleast you're braking properly now, which is the most important thing.
