Tire Roar

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

They should have replaced your tires if you have the tire roar. They might try to swap your front tires side-to-side but that just delays the problem. Don't accept this. Just have them replace your front tires.
A:

Nissan owes you new front tires.
What year and trim do you have?
A:

acid,
It's not up to the monkeys at the dealer whether or not to replace the tires. There is a spec on how much feathering is acceptable - meaning the difference in tread height between the leading and trailing edge. If your tires exceed that spec, you get new tires. If they do not exceed the spec, they may cross rotate them. I just took mine in yesterday and they found that mine are indeed outside the spec, so they ordered the tires and did nothing else. When the tires come in they'll put them on and adjust the toe.
You should take yours back. Your service guy does not know if you are "fine" without inspecting the tires.

Hey tx350z .....I have a 03 Enthusiast ........I am going to call the Consumer Affair's line and complaint. I am also going to call my local service department and see if I can have them inspect my tires.

Get ahold of the latest TSB for feathering.. read it.. know what it says.
Take a copy of the TSB to the service department when you go and ask that they perform the TSB to the point of determining whether they replace or swap. They will base their decision on tire replacement vs swap based on tread height variations between tread blocks.
If they want to do the swap... I would say no.. that will just delay the problem as mentioned, as they try to push you past warranty (even though it is extended) and past mileage caps for how much you pay for replacement. As some point you should meet the requirements for total replacement way before 21,000 miles. Uou just have to live with the noise for awhile.
I think its like < 21,000 for free replacement after that you start paying a percentage. (there is a chart in the TSB)
