Q:
Can something called a true dual exhaust, by definition, enter and exit a single, shared muffler? Wouldn't a true dual exhaust carry dual down pipes, cats, mufflers. etc?

thats right. each has to be seperate. there is a lot of duals out there right now. stillen, borla, injen....
