A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hello, glad to be here. LOVE my Z, love the color Brickyard, had for 13 months now and sometimes still make up reasons to go for a drive. Feel like a kid at christmas with a fire truck. Still find myself turning to look at her just before going into the house, one last glance. I know of the tire feathering issues in the '03's. The dealer replaced my front tires at approx 7k, now at 13k and same issue. 1. Has anyone heard of this problem in the rear tires? 2. Anyone had the dealer replace the rears? I am thinking of asking for this due to the inconveniences. What do you think they will say? 3. Anyone heard of a solution to this problem yet? No other problems though...except for this ANNOYING high pitched squeeking sound which seems to come from the trunk, anyone else with this? Thanks for your time.

Yes, this is a common problem with 2003,2004 Z cars front tires. Have not heard of it affecting rear tires. Noticed mine at about 7000 miles. took in to the dealer and they ordered new front tires. Appears to be no permanet fix for this problem, from Nissan at this time. They will probably continue to deny there is a problem like they have over the last year and a half. Doubt we will see a fix soon or at all in the future. Some people have tried changing springs and schocks to fix the problem.

I do the exact same thing when I walk away from the car....I turn one last time. My neighbors must think I'm a freak.
When the warranties out and if the issue with the tires continues I think I'll find a shop with a lifetime alignment for one flat upfront price (around $79 at one reputable shop here) and keep it checked over and over and go from there. Nissan says long as its dead on aligned it wont wear...guess I'll take it in monthly to keep it dead on.

i have an 04 track after 4k no tire problems.i have heard a couple of things such as.people going with a different brand of tire.this seems to help a lot also having the car alligned helps with it aswell.as long as you can have the tires replaced at no or minimal don't sweat it.your looking at spending five hundred bucks on new skins if you paying out of pocket.some of the tires that were mentioned are the michelin pilots and the good year eagle f1's.as far as anyone having problems with there rear tires they tend to wear pretty fast after breaking loose the tires every chance you get :).don't worry about the tire problem just keep an eye on it and have fun.enjoy the ride!

Ditto on the tires. As far as the squeak goes, I do not have it but have seen postings saying it could be coming from the rear strut bar. There have been some suggested solutions on some of the other forums; looks like a pain in the a** taking it apart and putting foam or some other padding in. good luck!
