Not yet in the 350Z but multiple times in the 240's. The latest one in the 73 was cited by the meter maid in Palo Alto (no parking ticket, just the front plate ticket). Lame.

I got a ticket, cost me 15 at first. When I went to pay the fee it came out to 40 dollars. But I took it off again.

I'm in New Jersey, we are a front & rear plate state.Have had my front plate off for tha past year on my Z roadster. My other toys have never had their front plates on. Been very luck never gotten stopped or ticketed.

Los Angeles County is loose, but I met someone who landed two tickets recently in Orange County. I drove my last car (an easy to notice BMW convertible) for 4 years without a ticket.
Unfortunately, my Z came with a drilled-through-the-bumper plate holder. The plateless Z's look so much better. If I were you, I'd risk it.

Been runnin no front plate on the Z for 21 months, and the miata for 12 years in Va. 1 no plate ticket about 10 years ago. Told the cop to go to Disneyland and get a real job. Take the risk, totaly worth the occasional fine, if any. Front plates on sports cars look like arse. No holes in the front bumber of my Z. No chips either. 3m bra soooo worth it.

I don't give tickets for that b.s. CT is a two plate state. Anyone with a nice car shouldn't have a front plate on there. I made sure my dealership didn't install one.
Not to say that it isn't a good reason to pull someone over if you think there are other things going on?! : )

i'm from CA and have gotten 2 tickets. the first one cost $15 and the second one $35. the second ticket was actually given at the same time i got an expired meter ticket. i guess the meter expired where i parked my car and the citation officer checked my front plates for my license number, saw that i didn't have one, so gave me a ticket for that too. i was furious!

Jacksonville. There wasnt a two plate law in Ga. either.

I've been lucky too. I been driving my car for almost 2 years now without the front plates.

I got pulled over in Fillmore (Ventura County) a few months back. Got a warning and a rambling lecture about stolen plates. I drive through that hick town quite a bit, so I didn't want the hassle of a ticket the next time I ran into the same cop.
The dealer installed a custom metal plate holder in the air intake that looks a lot better than the plastic piece of s**t front plate holder that comes with the Z. It was around $100 for the parts and labor.
