A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I plan on taking my Roadster to the track (road course) later this month. Want to upgrade my pads. Planning on Hawk HP Plus in front and HPS in rear. Replacing oem brake lines with Russell Stainless Steel Lines. Anyone have any experience with other pads? Also any suggestions on a performance brake fluid? For time being I will keep oem rotors and see how they do.

JokerDev,
Like Bam--9 says it could easily be a DIY job. But, it depends on your mechanical ability and tools and your level of involvement. Some of this stuff I do myself. In my business I deal with car dealers and have a lot of friends in the service departments. Quite often it's much easier to have them do some of the things. Lots less of a hassle and fairly inexpensive.

Use Ford High Performance brake fluid as it has a higher boiling point. I have a Corvette and the brakes suck on it. The Corvette magazines like the Ford High Performance brake fluid and it does fix the ABS and Acceleration Slip Regulation (Traction Control) problems on the car. The Maxima I have loves it as does the 350Z. Check it out but you have to ask for it by name at the Ford Dealer. They sell their regular brake fluid but the High Performance fluid comes in a white container with a black label. It looks like a picture of a GT40 that is a blur. No kidding, the brake fluid is awsome for pedal feel and your fluid does not overheat like the normal boiling point fluid. Also, never use synthetic fluid as it will screw up the traction control and ABS on the 350Z. Read the owners manual and you will see that you should not use synthetic so the Ford High Performance is the best I have found for the price. It goes for about $5 dollars for a pint. Buy three cans and you can flush your system.

vonsudderth,
Thanks for the info, the Ford HP fluid sounds like it should do the trick and fairly inexpensive.
