Paint scrape repair?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I just got my 2003 350Z. It is used and although in nearly perfect condition it has one imperfection that I want to fix as soon as possible. Just behind the driver’s side door is a scrape that looks like it was made by someone leaning on it with riveted jeans on. The scrape is not deep, in fact you can't even feel it with your finger nail. But, in the light it shows like it was the only thing on the side of the car. Can someone recommend a way I can fix it with out taking it to a body shop?

Where do you live? I know a guy that does great touch up work in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas.

I live in San Diego California.

Okay, I found a great product that worked for me. I already had some plexiglass polish that I read up on and found that it was less abrasive than rubbing compound. So I tried it and it's great for taking fine scratches out. Thanks for the suggestions.

There is a scratch repair system called SSR (sprayless scratch removal). It's terrific at removing scratches like yours. Do a search in your area. Hopefully, you can find someone that does this. Cost varies, but should be somewhere between $50-$100.
Far superior to paint touch up. Good Luck.

Has anyone used the Zaino scratch removel polish (Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover) I just purchased it and I am wondering if there is any tips I should know.
A:

yes, Joe: that's the stuff to which I'm referring. It's great. Use it as you would any other polish - just rub harder on specific scratches - and I would rub perpendicular to the scratch primarily, until you see it recede. It works incredibly well, and doesn't leave a slightly dull haze like the others I've used. Highly recommended product!
Believe only what you think, not what you feel.
