Take a plastic trashbag. You can tear a hole in the bottom and slip your head thru for raingear. Take a hat, if it's sunny you need to protect your face, neck, and head; and you'll really appreciate it if it rains. Take a small styrofoam cooler. Throw it in the trash and you won't have to carry it back. Park 2 miles away in some shopping center or restaurant parking lot for free and walk in, yeah it IS faster. The speedway is a big place, park 2 miles away from YOUR gate, could save you a mile of walking right there. Wear old comfortable shoes. Put an extra T-shirt in the car for after, you'll be sweaty and grimy. I don't think it's too noisy, but you decide on the earplugs, nascar is noisier.
Plan on it being muddy and humid with pretty bad traffic. I don't know what security will be like, but they have stepped it up so arrive early. Normally it would take you about 20 minutes to get to your seat once you've arrived at the gate.

Compare this to going to the Firecracker 400 @ Michigan.
After driving 2 hours on I-69, sit in traffic on a 2 lane highway for another 4 hours. Spend 13 hours in your car (at least it was a Z) to watch a 3 hour race that was on TV.
