A&Q about 350Z
Q:
2800 mile change would require some harsh braking or frozen calipers
A:
Keep in mind that large monoblock calipers like the Brembos tend to have a bit of squeal that is normal. It's due to the design of the brakes themselves- the pads are secured by two large pins that tend to vibrate. The "whistling" as you call it, is common to just about every high-performance vehicle with these type of brakes- from NASCAR stockers to formula race cars.
The good news is that when you go to swap pads the design lends itself to easy access. I've had my track model in for two pad changes in 22K miles and dozens of track days...

good advice on the whistling dkmura
A:
Pull the wheels and inspect the pads. Mine were changed at 17K on the odometer. With the Brembo rotors being about $500 each it is good to make sure that you are not eating your rotors...

Mine was making noise @ 22K. Dealer suggest to change pads. Sucks $ 200 buck!!!
