2003 feathering after alignment?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

i have a 2003 performance model with 69K miles on it. been through the feathering issue from the beginning. my goodyear G1 are wearing out and are majorly feathered.
the dealer tells me that i wont have feathering with the new alignment specs. i dont really believe him and am considering selling the car.
has anyone had the experience of getting the new alignment and it eliminating the feathering ?

I have 2003 track model with 54k plus. I had brought my car to the dealer twice for the front tire replacement as well as alignment, at 11k and at ~23k. Second alignment was actually done on 2005 Jan (if I remember correctly). Not sure if the alignment was done according to the new spec, but I guess it probably was, since the feathering problem doesn't appear for so long (until 52k). But, at 54k now, I could feel the problem, only not as bad as the first and second feathering problem I had before. I won't bring my car to the dealer yet because I could live with it, but I don't know for how long before it will get worse again.

Well, I don't think you know either

I had severe feathering at 7000 miles on my '03. Had it aligned and new tires were put on. After 11,000 miles, I show no signs of feathering.

I have an '04 enthusiast (17" tires/wheels) and I had uneven wear and loud noise at 7500 miles. I got the free replacement tires with the different tread design and the alignment with the new specs at the dealer. I now have about 25,000 miles on the replacement front tires and have no uneven wear or noise problems at all. I really don't think we should expect to get much over 25K miles on soft compound tires like our stock front tires with a tread wear rating of 140. And I drive fairly aggressively. I am sooooooooooooo glad I kept my 350Z!!!!!!!!
