Q:
I hate them. My car will be nice and clean then I drive it down the road and back and it covered in bugs!!!!!!! Whats a good cleaner to get bugs off. Im Zainoing this weekend and I need something to get the bugs off while not taking my wax off. Any suggestions?

Meguires quick wax works well for me. Maybe some soap and a sponge first.

Is this your first coat of Zainos?
If so, wash the car with Dawn (The blue kind) dishwashing liquid. It will strip the wax and the bugs/tar and leave you primed for Zainos.
Since I've had Zainos on my Z, bugs come off pretty easy with the hose and a little scrub with the terry cloth.

Yeah first coat. Just got the car a little over a month ago so no wax yet. But I plan on washing it with dawn first anyway.

as far as basic getting rid of the bugs i use a t-shirt like material and just the car wash soap i usually use. the shirt material works much better than a sponge.

Once it is waxed good I use Meguires Quick Detailer between washings to keep the bugs off the front.

please, please, PLEASE dont use dawn ( or any dishwashing soap ) on a new 350Z. Ya know how they say "cuts through grease and oil ! " on the commercials ? It sucks the oil right out of your paint too, makeing it fade very very quickly. I've used Meguires "Soft Wash" right after waxing and been happy with it.

Im pretty sure car paints are water based from the factories now. Thats why all those early 90's cars that had the first type of water based paint lost all of their pain. Tough pollution laws killed off the oil based paints on cars a while ago I beleive.

If you are going to apply Zainos, the first step IS to wash your car with DAWN. This will remove all wax and oily films left from wax's and polishes. This will create a clean surface for you to apply Zainos which will protect your paint forever. And remember, you can apply Zainos over and over again and keeps building coats for even more protection.

ah, but the chemicals in dawn that eat away the oils are also known to seep down into your clearcoat(which is friggin thin anyway) and break it down on the molecualar level, basically eating it away
