A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Autozone has performance friction carbon metallics. But, be sure to look for the noise makers on all the pads since Nissan uses them to keep the pads pulled back from the rotors when you are not on the brakes. When I bought mine I ended up getting two sets and having them defect one set out so I could get all four pads with the noise clips. When you take the brakes off you will see what I mean. The pads work better than stock and throw less dust.

just did mine this wekend, get the Hawk HPS pads from tire rack and install them yourself...get the service manual to give yo a step by step on how to do it if you don't have a clue.

Put EBC greenstuff on mine and they are great! Been on there for 2 weeks and hardly any brake dust! No sqeek or nothing. Work very well! Got them here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z/per.html Very easy to install. Took me less than an hour. I have a link with Pics and step by step install if you want. Email me

Got the Hawk HPS pads put on. Easy to do it yourself...there are threads on other forums showing how to do it. I changed mine out to cut down on brake dust...I'd go with either Hawks or EBC greenstuff...I've heard good things about both

I'm going on 34,000 miles so I'll probably be changing my brake pads pretty soon. Thanks for the info! Where can I get a copy of the service manual or a DIY site with intructions on how to do it yourself. I don't have 70......
P.S. not to mechanically inclined in this area but can one only change the fronts or is it prefered to change all four?
Thanks in advance
D.
A:
Change the front pads first and then the second time around you should need both front and back.
Changing the pads on the front is easy in that the car gets jacked up and then you get the wheel off and then a 14 mm socket or wrench to take the caliper loose. Then remove the caliper and take the pads off and compress the piston and reinstall the caliper.
Check out zchicks.com and they have a pictorial on the job.

Thanks, I'll check that site
