3000 miles; no tire feathering '04

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I hope you are right, mine is about to reach the 6000 mile mark. So far no tire-noise yet.
Some have reported feathering at 8000-12000 miles, so it varies wildly from car to car.

I have 5800 miles and just starting to feather inside, the printed recall states to adjust toe in to "0" and set the tire pressure to 35 psi. I have about 38 psi because it seems to handle better. Lets hope for the best.

Bought my wife a 2003 Z350, had loud road noise and feathering @ 8500 miles. Got the tires on the front replaced by Nissan, and the frontend aligned.Immediately noticed the car was quietier, ran smoother, and drives better than when we took it off the showroom floor. Nissan says the "toe" settings from the factory were incorrect (only on new 2003 models), that they have caught the problem and are correcting it. My wife is a happy camper now. Oh, by the way, we just got in the mail an official notice from the factory about this problem, citing 2003 models, and an offical plan to replace tires, align front ends and extend the warranty on the front end to 2yrs. I'm a new Z owner and was wondering what the deal is with the tires? I keep hearing about it and was wondering if you could shed some light on it for me. Is there something I should do or have the dealership do? What is tire feathering?
A:

I am finally figuring this thing out. The car bounces on concrete and not on asphalt. So, there was someone that had the idea that the problem was with the springs. So, I think the feathering is caused by resonant frequency with the 03 and the spring selection. I wonder if the part number for the 04 is different with the springs on the front of the car? Any others out there with the idea?
A:

rumor is eibach springs is the cure.

I had 4700 miles and feathering began. got my new tires the other day on the front and noticed that the inner/outer tread was different than the original stock tire. It appears that the individual treads are are joined as the tread comes up from the sidewall and torwards the middle. ther rear tires have individual tread. I also noticed a little softer ride.

2004 coupes and roadsters owners have been reporting feathering problems as well.
Go to www.my350z.com /forums/repairing and you will see several posts from 2004 Z owners that are reporting feathering front tires like us.
Nissan still doesn't have a fix. I wish they did.
I love my car, but front tire replacement every other oil change is unacceptable!
