This problem has been the most critisized item about the Z's interior.To me it is a non issue.Do not see any problem with the nav door.

2004 model Nav door is supposed to be "motorized" as I understand it... take it to the dealer, as much as you probably hate to.

Thanks for everyone's input. It is motorized (I forgot to mention that) and I took it to the dealer yesterday. They took me without an appointment, the tech did some troubleshooting on the computer only and they've ordered a new door - problem solved hopefully.
