I am! I bought a z32 na a few years a go. love the car for what it is. I wish i had turbos, but not in my budget. You guys spent 30k (more or less) on a car than can't get over 320hp(with bolt ons). If you had to buy a zed again would you choose a 350? Or would you buy one of the 400+ hp cars comming out soon from other makers? Just wondering with all the problems apearing with the 350. at leaste you dotn have to deal with soft valves.........vtc springs......weak trannies .............well maybe you do...........

Horsepower isn't everything. Especially for a car used 99.9% for driving public roads.

Are they making anything that looks as good as a Z for under 40k? I can live without 400hp. In order to compensate for how ugly they are, I think they need to make a 500 hp EVO and a 900hp WRX.

MY z my Z dont you ZEE my car is the **** and i can smoke a mustang GT, camaro z28, bullit mustang, boxster, oh yeah and in California traffic i can stay with a Lammborghini, ferrari, viper or anythign else that decides to hit anything in the bay area metro, 400 hosepower means nothing, my car lack nothing 140 mph is no joke, at 400 or 290 it doesnt matter get over it ____ rx 8's are ugly. an EVO is ok if you like 19 pounds of boost on the factory engine give it 5 like the greddy Z and see how it is____Pink Sti symbols nuff said________what other cars are you talkin about cobra mustang ? z06 vette? $30,000 cars with 400 hp, I might as well wait a couple more years for those $30,000 500 hp cars I've been hearing so much about. Or a few more years after that for those $30,000 600 hp cars.
I'm happy with a measly 287 hp. When I start driving beyond the car's capabilities, I'll let you know.

That's if you do ALL of the work yourself, have the equipment and know how to do it yourself, and on top of that, sell half of your original parts.

Look at it this way. Z1 Motorsports will do you a twin turbo swap for $6000, which keeps his total investment at $13,125. Still less than half of $30,000 and you still have your original parts. If you want to do it 'yourself' and save some money, just find a really knowledgable friend.
As for time, you don't have to have too much... He finished his complete rebuild of an NA engine into a TT (only time I've ever seen it done) in 2 full days.
Nothing can deter me from my belief that the Z32 is the absolute coolest/fastest car that you can get for your money. A Civic hatchback with a turbo might be a little bit faster than the Z32 for a little less money, but at the end of the day can it go out on the town and pick up chicks?
It's a truly versatile ride.

I don't know. I'm devoted to Zs and all, but it seems that the MKIV Supras are on a slightly (note the word slightly) higher level than the Z32. Most of the time the MKIV Supra is compared to the R34 Skyline GTR.

there are no stock 400hp sports cars under 40k (new) much less 30k. nor are there any on the horizon. the next mustang cobra might be close to 400 though. i remember reading something about a 400hp ford focus but i think it was a concept.
