350 GT

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

what the hell does the trim package have to do with anythign its the same car with a few more things the question is can it be considereda GT
A:

Not really. There are better GT cars out there. The Z is more of a sports car than a GT. Best example of a GT is probably a MKIV Supra - highway cruiser, nice trim, lots of high end power, nicer ride than the Z. The Z is a little too harsh to be a GT, it's oriented more towards spirited driving and handling than cruising.
A:

Aston Martin DB 9, Ferrari Maranello (?? misspelled) are GT. Add some chroms and luxurious items in and out the Z would definitely a GT
A:

So what does gt mean, gran turismo, grand touring, is that the smae thing ? what does the mustang have to with gt given that? is the z a gt the bottom level one

A:

"GT" can really mean whatever you want it to, that's why this thread has people with varying opinions and why something like a Mustang or a Hyundai Elantra can have "GT" models. You can call anything whatever you want when you're the manufacturer. As far as "racing" and "concours" is considered, a GT car is typically a more luxurious take on a sports car that allows it to be more liveable for "touring". Take "touring car racing" in England for example, most are low-end luxury sporty cars like Honda Accords and Nissan Primeras (G20's).
