Supercharged 350Z with low dyno numbers

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I had the opportunity to witness an 03 350Z (black track model) dyno last weekened. He had the ATI procharger, the stillen headers, testpipes, catback, intake, pulley set, and lightened flywheel and I believe he was boosting 7psi if my memory serves me correctly. He only put down 382rwhp, not even as much as a stage 5 Z32TT (that is a Z32 with stock turbos still). For all that money I would expect more power. Is this average or no? Thanks
A:

is 7psi really that much, i've seen them with well over 400
A:

Only 382 rwhp? Wow, I think that's very good.

A:

382 hp at the wheels is stilll fast. heck that over double what my car puts to the wheels
A:

money that he had to have spent to achieve 382rwhp. I think it's extremely low. I love the 350Z, but put that same amount into a Z32TT and you will have over 500rwhp. Maybe the TT kit will be different. Again I am not bashing the 350Z, I love all Z's, I just wish for your money that you got more power.
A:

And had just slightly better performance than a $26,000 base 350Z in 2003 / 2004?
For all that money I would expect more performance value.
Oh yeah, I love all Zs. I'm not bashing the 300ZX.

all the money put into it outside of the blower is really the waste, the blower's added horsepower is really what the car was running off of, the headers, pipes, etc are just overkill that won't add much if anything. kinda like using race fuel with a fuel additive
A:

I was impressed, instant power. I just expected more for the amount of money that he dumped into it. So I came here to see if those numbers are accurate or if they should be higher. That was my only question? Again I am not bashing the 350Z, I just came here to ask a question. Please don't get my post confused.

its hard to mod the Z...It is hard to make power out of the VQ. sure its do-able but before you mod you have to understand that it will take a lot of $$. especially NA mods. I think the Z can handle more than 7psi but not much more. I think someone at my350Z.com did a dyno running 8psi with the greddy and made a litle over 400 but im not sure. If you want to run over 500hp you gotta go get a supra. Im sure people will be doing it with the Z eventually but the car is fairly new and thus the mods havent been tested enough and they are still very expensive.
A:

I'll take 382RWHP any day.
A:

i wonder how much money for all the mods this guy spent on his 350z.??
Regardless, 382RWHP, is GOOD enough for me!
A:

for all that stuff your talking atleast 7k without any installation costs factored in.
A:

I'll take a 382RWHP Z33 over a 500 (or more) HP Z32 hands down. That's HP and TQ in Z06 territory. Plus, the 350Z is a superior car to the 300ZX in all other ways. Add $8000 in mods to a $34000 track model 350Z, and you're still cheaper than what a '95 Z32TT was when new.
I'm not putting down the Z32. I had one for eight years and loved it, but my 350Z is a much better car. Hell, it should be. It has 15 years of advanced technology to pull from.
