A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Guys,
I have a base Z and would like to install Aluminum Pedals (manual transmission). Just want to know how hard it is? Performance Nissan is selling for $75 bucks.
Thanks,
Tony

It's tricky, and you will curse yourself. But it is possible.
You will want to have the following on hand:
Hairdryer or heat gun
Small stubby flat head screwdriver
Medium flat phillips head
I started by removing all of the covers, including the dead pedal.
Start with the brake or the clutch.
(Leave the dead pedal off, you will need the room)
Heat one of the pedals rubber backing with the heat gun to make it soft enough to bend easily. Using the stubby work the lip of the pedal arround until all lips are over the base.
The gas is pretty easy to do.
All in all it is worth it, it really makes a difference.

just buy them from the dealer and negotiate a reasonable price, make them include the install in the price

Even if you had to take the seat out, it's not hard. Just four fasteners and a wiring connector on the bottom. It's pretty lightweight. It might be worth it to do it just to have more room to work.

Are you joking take the seat out? It took me a total of 10 minutes to put the pedals on my base

Did you install the OEM pedals with the rubber lips?
