A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Track Model also sports some air diffusers under the body to help make it zero lift. Made of plastic they look black and tray like in appearance. Most are located on in rear either side of the half shafts and a piece or two along the drive-shaft I believe as well as a small chin diffuser on the front bumper. There was no leather as an option for the 03 Tracks.
Not sure about the honoring of TSB's on used vehicle....check it out with the dealership you plan to take it to for those repairs before you put money down.
Sorry, not much help on the cost but it seems a bit high with those miles and problems you desribe.
A:
Doesn't seem to be worth $22k.
Sounds like the bumpers have been replaced/repainted, so the car may have been partially wrecked.
You can get the recalls fixed for free, but TSBs will probably cost you.
Sounds like a piece to me - the interior should not be in that poor of shape. I didn't think the Track model had navigation as an option, so unless the navi is aftermarket, I would doubt that its even a Track model. Also don't put too much interest on the navigation. Third-party portable navi systems are better and cheaper, IMO.
I would think you could get a better condition '03 Track for $22k (possibly even a decent '04 Track - if you are really wanting the Track version).

yea i wouldnt trust it...the bumpers should NOT be a different color. That sounds like it was in an accident(check carfax maybe). Nav, if it's stock would signify a touring model, but the track doesnt really come with much more than the brembos lightweight wheels, and aero package(there should be a small spoiler on the rear hatch) so even if it wasnt a true track you wouldnt really be missing much. I would be suspect though with all the problems. And no you probabaly wouldnt be able to get the TSB's fixed for free since the factory warranty is only 3yrs 36k miles and its probly over 3 years by now. If the car was in decent condition though and wasnt all f'ed up, 22k for a track with 22k miles i guess would be a decent deal(check www.KBB.com to see what its worth).

Track models DID have NAV as an option - it's what I have. Sounds like that Z was rode hard and put away wet however.
Assuming the mileage is accurate, I'd say the car is worth around 16.5K.
Believe only what you think, not what you feel.
A:
hmmm i didnt know that...id always thought that the tracks didnt have a nav option. learn something new everyday i guess

sounds like the previous owner didn't take very good care of that car. i have 22k on mine and the interior is still perfect. of course it's an 05...

The car was definitely not well taken care of. But the KBB price is $24550 for Good Condition and $22680 for Fair Condition, which is why I'm even considering the deal.
I also have another alternative that I'm debating on which is a '03 Touring w/around 22k miles as well for $21500, but this car is super clean in and out.
So what it really comes down to is this:
'03 Track, ~22k miles w/navigation, decent condition, for $22,000
OR
'03 Touring, ~22k miles no navigation, excellent condition, for $21,500
A:
i'd go with the touring. what color are they?

They're both silverstone. But I think that it's more worth it to get the Ray's, Brembo, and Navi for an extra $500, however, the conditions not great. Also, the Touring has that burnt orange seat. I think I'm leaning
towards the Touring too.
A:
get the touring... you won't regret it... unless you park your car where the sunlight hits the seats...
if your really interested in getting the rays you might even tempt the dealer into buying the rays off the track and sticking them on your touring...
i'd tell him "Put those rims on this car... and your gotta deal"
who needs navi anyway... as mentioned above, aftermarket Navi's are usually cheaper and better anyway... not to mention majority of them double as DVD players too...
i mean... if you're going to distract yourself you might as well do it right...
and to add fuel to the fire... the interior is all banged up... so you're going to hate it THAT much more every time you see it... so either you live with the damage or you get it replaced... waste of time and money... so unless you track the car or race it... you're really not going to need the Brembos anyway... the stock brakes work almost as good... they just don't tolerate a whole mess of heat like the brembos are designed to do...
but hey it's up to you... but make sure you keep the burnt orange clean... it'll show dirt alot more than the charcoal leather

I agree, it seems like the previous owner didn't take care of the car. You could prob do better on the price. Bumpers not matching = wreck! If you're going to dump that kind of money just for the upgraded brakes and what not..you'd be much happier with a Touring and upgrade performance parts yourself..you'll enjoy it much more..Plus..LEATHER come on!!!! Go for the Burnt Orange...Chicks love it!!
