Panel alignment is one of the things I look for on any car of mine. If they're not even - everywhere - then something's wrong.
I've been fortunate with the 3 brand new cars I've bought. All had good panels.
Sorry about yours, spoonie. You didn't mention if the hood is off up near the passenger seat. If it is, you have a skewed installation. If it isn't, you have a bad hood.

Maybe by buying a Carbon Fibre hood would solve your problem and give you an added weight saving benefit.

Have somebody follow directly behind you on a straight section of roadway. Have them check to see if your Z appears to be traveling with the rear end shifted slightly to the left. If so, the car has been hit ! A local bodyshop GM told me once that ~ 20% of NEW vehicles have some sort of exterior damage repaired prior to sale. Perfectly legal and no disclosure required as long as the repairs don't exceed state NEW car repair limits. ( Also, having a " cooperative " bodyshop helps keep the bill down ).
