Brembo Upgrade?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I bought my touring model a couple of months ago, but I was wondering if there's any way I can get the Brembo brakes put on aftermarket. Has anyone done it, and if so, is it worth the money?

Good darn question.
Anyone got some info here?
A:

you can buy a brembo upgrade kit...about $2200....tirerack.com (in the upgrade garage)....don't know if it's worth it, I don't have the Brembos....but I'm sure the people with the Brembos will say it is :)

do you drive fast or at the track? And, do you make high speed and frequent stops? If you answer yes to these questions then you might go for the upgrade. Ask at courtesynissan.com or go to Stillen on the web and compare prices. Are you going to do it yourself? If not you might want to go to the dealer to keep the warranty in effect for the front end...

I don't drive my Z all that hard, but I like the look of the huge Brembo rotors and calipers. Plus, it might be nice if I ever need to stop on a dime.
Thanks guys...

Is brembo the only place that has cross-drilled and slotted rotors besides stillen? (the stillen ones have a wierd look to them)

I have never had the opportunity to compare but ive heard that the brembos dont really help all that much unless you are tracking the car or really drive hard on the street. They definetly will help with fade but won't really improve stopping distance worth the over 2k price range if your just streeting the car. You should also check out stoptech and rotora if you want an aftermarket big brake kit.

I cannot speak for how difficult the upgrade would be, but I own a '03 Track Edition and the braking with the Brembos is incredible. It stops on a dime and the huge gold calipers look great. Not sure if I really need them since I don't run it on the track, but I am very happy with them. If I had to do it over again I would buy the Track Edition again for the Brembos.
