Got my first moving violation in california, and in fact my first one in seven years. So pissed. Making an illegal u-turn in hollywood into a parking spot on my way to breakfast with my girlfriend on a weekend morning. Pissed me off, but I need to go to traffic school, do one online? Anyone have any information on cheaper/easier schools that have been done before?

I spent 8 hrs. on Saturday in a driving school (86 in a 70). It wasn't torturous like I expected, but then again my teacher wasn't terrible. The deal was that I had to go to a "Driver Improvement" course that was taught at a community college within the county that I was pulled over. This should get my ticket dropped by X amount (I'm going to talk to the DA about that this weekend).
In a nutshell: It's like driver's ed all over again.
Class options:
1) 8 hrs. on a Saturday.
2) 4 hrs. on Wednesday evening, 4 hrs. Thursday evening.

It's cheap and takes about 30 minutes. Do it today. Pick one from the many available in California.

I had to take one to prevent losing my license when I was 19..3 hrs a night for 3 nights. Not too bad. My wife just tookone online, much cheaper AND easier, on your own time. only problem is you have to wait for the certificate. Just make sure its certified in your state, or else it wont count. A simple search should work. I highly recommend online.

when they mail you your ticket, it comes with a list of traffic schools that they accept completion certificates from. There are many online ones, and they cost $20. I kept hitting the next button and guessed my way on the test to pass in 8 minutes. You can use traffic school every 1.5 years, i would not waste it on a illegal U-turn unless you are shure that you will not get caught speeding.

Be sure to check out what the court will allow for on-liine courses in California. I showed the girlfriend and now wife that there was a course on-line and it was really nice.

I don't anticipate getting a speeding ticket. Its pretty hard to get one during rush hour in LA, unless you are driving on the shoulder.
But who knows. Insurance is already high enough. I don't need to make it any higher.

I just finished completing my online traffic school last week for a ticket I recieved in Burbank, Ca. The school I signed up for is www.losangelesdriver.com it was very easy, they were listed on the paperwork the court gives you when your approved to attend traffic school.

I got another speeding ticket within 18 months and now I have to go to court on Tuesday to see if the judge will let me go to the 12 hr traffic school. I sure hope so. Otherwise my insurance jumps up to $2,000 for 6 months. eek. I think I would have to sell my Z if that was the case. Please keep your fingers crossed for me people. Thanks.
