A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I took my Z to the dealer today for the creaking seat TSB. While I was waiting for my wife to pick me up, I browsed the dealers new Z inventory. They had 3 roadsters, one of which had the 18" wheel option.
I noticed that the tread on its tires was significanly different from the other Z's on their lot. I read the side and it said "RE040". It did not have the completely segmented tread blocks along the edges like the others. It looked more like the tread on my Maxima Bridgestone Turanza tires.
Did Nissan / Bridgestone redesign the tires to reduce feathering? Maybe they did, and the latest TSB may replace the older style RE040's with the newer version.
Has anyone else noticed this change?

would it be true, then, that nissan actually kept this car very close to the original concept car, i.e. a trackable car directly from the dealer (ok, plus helmet and restraints) ready to beat the competition? i'm sitting here wondering if what we complain about is really a design feature of a car meant to be on the track.
and that any car that would want to be on the track (to win) would have similar characteristics?
maybe the car just doesn't qualify as a luxury sports car, but to your point, as a track car. those that want the luxury sports car could be disappointed?
i know why i bought mine... :)

A luxury sports car the 350z is not. It is a terrific sports car with great handling characteristics that's reasonably priced and enough muscle to make us want to drive it..Its a fun car to get behind the wheel..
