How reliable is the factory anti-theft system? Should I buy Lo-Jack, i.e., something additional?

If you puchase an aftermarket sound system or rims, then get a decent security system. Otherwise, don't bother. If someone would steal my Z I'd never want it back.

you can get a nice insurance rebate year over year with lo-jack... they do have an impressive recovery rate, but might agree with Reb that i wouldn't want it back.

i'd take the car back,first i'd collect from the insurance company than i'd buy it back really cheap from the tow or impound yard.if it's still in decent condition of course.it may have a salvage title by that time but who cares with some of the insurance money i'd drop a turbo charger in that thing and race the hell out of it with out worrying about it.with the left over money i'd put a nice down payment on a new TITAN and tow the car to the track.i have a huge immagination but thats an option.
