A&Q about 350Z
Q:

turbos or supercharger?
A:

They are equally reliable really, the stress they produce by making much larger than stock power on your car is what blows it. I prefer turbos because you have more control over them with tuning/settings etc. The turbo has more potential and is more efficient. It would be interesting to see the #'s of factory produced turbo vs sc powered cars. Imports are almost always turbo if they are FI whereas domestics the other way around.

I'm guessing turbos are more common than superchargers because they are simpler, cheaper to manufacture.
A:

Superchargers are more common on domestics due to the influence of using "blowers", as they're called, on "grassroots" racing vehicle like amateur dragsters. They seem to work well and require less work to install and tune.
