2003 vs 2004 feathering

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

now that nissan has responded, albeit it lame and almost useless, it points out further that they don't think there is a feathering problem with the later 2004's.
so the big question is what the difference is between a 2003 and a 2004?
what did they do to correct the situation? (hardly an alignment! )
does anyone know? can one check by comparing part numbers?
A:

all i know is lots of people on my350z.com have reported feathering problems with their 04s(including 04.5s which have the euro suspension).

The "party line" that it's an alignment problem and has been fixed by teaching the dealers how to use alignment equipment. Therefore there should be no misaligned '04s because the dealers have been taught not to screw them up in the first place.
Of course, the problem with party lines is they are politically and financially motivated; rarely supported by inconsequential stuff like fact.

I just received my third set of tires at 12,500 miles yesterday with the new "aggressive" front end alignment .
I hope it's fixed, but 6,000 miles from now we will know.

And this is an acceptable solution to you?
A:

sure seems like it... why did you have to ask?

Would you buy a car that needed a new transmission every 6 months if the manufacturer told you that he would replace it for you?
