Cleaning Interior

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I second FCallender......Armor All.
A:

try using a damp microfiber rag, it doesn't leave a oil all over the plastics. The micro fiber rags are great for attracting all the dust.

Armor All is junk. For Vinyl/plastic use Aerospace 303. For cloth I would just use a damp towel.

A good leather conditioner is saddle soap. Bet you young guys have never heard of that one. It is great for cleaning leather shoes also. Should not hurt the plastic - should keep it from drying out as it does the leather.

A:

Damp cloth with optional mild soap heavily diluted in it is best. I don't recommend any sort of "armor all" or similar "protectant". They all tend to leave the dash and interior plastics slick and snotty, plus they can actually cause degradation in high-heat situations if you slather it on too heavily.
After all, what do you get on your car interior that mild soapy water won't remove??
A:

Soap and water works great on plastic parts. Right about the problems with armor all - don't use it. As far as leather, I have found that a good liquid leather cleaner and conditioner works quite well and is real cheap. I believe the brand name is "Cavalier" and I have used it for many years. I usually buy it at a shoe store.
