digital, i will be installing new tires on friday after over 17,000 on my "feathered" RE040's. personally, i think the RE040 are a crap-grade tire. i think it may be part of the problem.
i will let you know within 3 months my experience, since i'm putting about 2K/month on the car.

Do whatever you want but make sure to budget $900 a year for new tires. I really hope you love this car enough to do that. Evidently, Nissan thinks you do. They are banking on heritage to get them through the tire feathering fiasco. That is why they called the 350 a "Z" and not an "SX". Easier to sell more of something with a longer history.

LOL...Scorpion must work for Nissan. Sounds like the same excuses I got from Nissan mechanics: "We've NEVER had a problem with tire feathering." Or "It's a sports car, it's supposed to rattle." All Z proponents come up with the same tired excuses because they regret buying their Altima based Z. Next one will be: "It's a sports car, you're supposed to wrap it around a tree." One excuse after the other from obvious shills of Nissan and corporate whore Carlos Ghosn, who admittedly, has five German cars. He happens to own a Z, for PR purposes, which he never drives. Hmm, wonder why...?

Like I said consider the source. Anyone who does any research will see that you are a looser who has nothing better to do than to cry sour grapes because you had to sell your z because you couldn't afford tires. Good luck with your BMW, you'll need it, especially if you can't even afford a z.

they had to redo the rods & mains under warranty Also to SMG eats clutches pronto. Engines blowing up that they origionally refused to repair under warranty.
personally I prefer replacing tires to having a semi or incompetant dealer wrench taking apart my engine
I will consider the new M4 as it will have a tried & true V8...but hell keep in mind you can buy a Z & an STI for bad weather for the same price?

If i were to sell my Z, which i won't, it sure in the hell would never be a BMW. Man, the M3 looks ugly!! The rear end looks like a Civic!! What a 'square' 'box' vehicle!!

With the weather getting warmer, I see more Z's than I do Mustangs or Bmw's. If you are basing your purchase of a Z on the fact that some other cars are "played out", you are just as much of a snob as the BMW owners you hate so much. Who the hell buys a $30k car because they think it's rare? Your Z is only a year old and I see them everywhere. Get over yourself...

Myself, TX350, and a host of others have feathering and b$tch about all the time. we surely do not deny the fact. Your not making any difference what so ever. PS: Im not sure where you live, but in my neck of the woods I most certainly do not see more Z's than stangs or BMW's. I guess your town just completely goes against all relevant statistics. Good luck with all those cool 3 series enthusiasts, you know those guys in their 40's who dont know how to change their oil and dont know jack about their car.

I was on the east side of Cleveland a couple days ago in my Z, where BMW's and Lexus' seem to just grow on trees because just about everyone has been born into money. I had two different guys come up and talk to me about my Z..one of them driving a BMW... both completely impressed by how absolutely awesome the car looks and how reasonably priced it was. Both guys seemed to have the same attitude as the tons of people that turned their heads to check out my Z as I passed by, JEALOUSY. I even got a thumbs up from a guy driving a Hummer that pulled up next to me.....Let ZNESS run his mouth because he knows the truth...the Z if fricken awesome....let him join the rest of the tight-ass yuppies who overpay for their 3-series BS status building BMW. Like everyone else that loves their Z, I'm going to keep laughing each time I see a BMW driver sitting at a green light because I just drove by and the only thing snapping him out of his droolish daze is the pissed off guy behind him! I still turn my head each time I Z. When's the last time you turned your head to check out a BMW 3-series? Probably not lately...if ever!

First of I never said anything about selling my Z. Much less selling my Z for a BMW 3 series. I would however jump at the turn of a hat to take a new M3. Would I pay 50-60K for one...O hell no, but would if I had the finacial stability to do so...yes. Compare the M3 to the 350z. M3 by far outexceeds the Z in every category including price. Would I rather have a dodge viper than a Z..yes. Would I take a new NSX...yes, or how about a M5..of coarse. Is there a car under 40K I would trade or take for my Z....no. SO yes this is a Z forum....however some of you need to get of your high-horse or better yet take off your stupid hats, and realize Jesus does not drive a Z. It is a great car for a great price...but there is always something better, and usually more expensive...............................

I had to laugh when reading these posts. Trying to compare a m3 to a 350 is like apples to oranges....it dont work. Go down the line starting with price...engine[6 individual throttle bodys], suspension, etc. These cars are not even close to being in the same class so whats the argument?? If you want to compare a porsche to a m3 fine, not a nissan. This is not to knock the nissan, it is what it is. If I couldnt afford the m3 I may think about a nissan. As far as a 350 "whipping up" on a m3...please. Sure a 350 with mods will beat it, but then again so will a honda with the right mods. If you dont like m3's fine, but please dont try to put them in the same class as a nissan.
