A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Why doesnt anyone make tear off's like they use in Nascar? Or does someone make these? No more window chips and no more bug juice! Just peel a strip off when it gets dirty! Seems simple enough...u think?

I asked the same question about a year ago to the 3M guys and other manufacturers who make the front clear bras ( I have the front clear bra and really like it).
Answers they gave me was that they are in development, but right now each sheet just does not last long enough and costs too much for the consumer (too expensive for a majority of consumers to be attracted to buy something that quickly needs replaced). In testing they also are just not clear enough yet to satisfy most customers. If you remember, Big E in NASCAR did not like the tear off because it was not clear enough for him.
Also, they'll have to custom cut numerous patterns which raises cost. I imagine with the common template in NASCAR most of the windshields are the same or very similar.

Keep in mind that the average budget for a Nascar car is probably about 6 million or so; cost is not an issue for tear-offs!
