sounds a lot like the /. style of doing things. we could rate posts funny, informative, whiner, etc.
of course, since some *one* has to do the rating, it's always an opinion. many are unhappy with the way things get rated on slashdot, but that's the price one pays.
forums tend to be self-balancing, and this one is no different. that means that posts can run hot or cold against the mainstream with seemingly little correlation to anything.
rating threads, or rating posters, can be a double-edged sword. the fine line between informative and whining is at the whim of the community. it would surely suck for me to get a rating of "whiner" because of how i feel on a particular issue or topic, only to be ignored (yes, whiner might follow me on to another post) on a post that is really useful, and below the view threshold of people who block "whiner."

well atleast you knew to expect it. sorry i just couldnt resist. honestly the vast majority of my 500+ posts are informative and non attacking, and I generally respect what people have to say, but sometimes people just hit a nerve and i can no longer be my normal helpful and kind self, its nothing personal. hang around here long enough and you may very well understand where im coming from.

I would only ask that you re-read my posting. I am only trying to suggest a way to make this site "more civilized".
I don't doubt that you really love the Zcar and are irked by the apparent criticism of the car. There are many who just want to express their frustrations with Nissan.
I look forward to reading your positive posts about a car that can be great with some fine tuning.
