A&Q about 350Z
Q:
My car has 8000 miles and runs great (besides common '03 350z problems. tranny, idle etc). I picked it up with a few hundred miles on her already. But I did buy her brand new. I do have fun with this car. However, I take precautions. I use 5w30 mobil 1 syn w/ nissan oem filter. I also change oil every 3k. I dont start driving hard until the car is fully warmed up. I dont redline it everyday, but I do floor the car a lot. I bought it to have fun.
My car runs great now at 8000miles. My concern is that it will run like $hit down the road considering when I purchased it, it had 700 miles on it already. What do you think? I did buy a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty :D just in case. The car also runs very fast.
Should I be ok? Am I over reacting?
A:
Well, a 350Z is not a BMW. Nissan doesn't break in the VQ engine. There is a break in procedure listed in the manual for new owners to follow. The car probably was a demo since it had 700 miles on it when he bought it. Still, I'm sure the engine wasn't damaged significantly during this period unless it was really worked over.

a demo?
A:
demo... a salesperson or multiple salepeople(manager etc) will use the car personally, maybe use it for some test drives and such. Then when they eventually sell it off you can get a good deal on a non registered vehicle because it has some miles on it.

Just judging by the way I test drove the Z when I went in, I'm glad that mine (a different one than the one I test drove) only had 38 miles on it.
