A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have a nissan 300zx 2+2 and was driving by the nissan dealership a brand new 350z pulled up to me, i saw it had the brembo brakes and had dealer upgraded rims(dont know 350z models) The guy starts revving his engine and i think to my self, "is this guy serious?" I roll up my window and wait for the light to turn green, I see the other light turn yellow so i rev my Z up to my usual launch rpm(3500)
Light turns green, clutch is dropped and i floor it. The other guy dosent launch but still gets a good start. I stay ahead of him the whole time, I go through the first 4 gears and i see the 350Z behind me in the mirror. I say to my self, "Wow, either the 350Z is slow or my NA 300zx must be fast."

non turbo, 300, not fast. driver sucks. i beat my friends n/a 300zx in my acura legend, both automatics. lol

auto's are slow! i had a 5 speed and the guy had a 6speed, i can hear him spinning the tires when he shifted into second. BTW that guy is a idiot for racing his car when he bought it, if it was me i would take a 400 mile road trip to break the engine in. My engine was well taken care of untill i started driving it, now i have bad seals in my engine. I go through 4 quarts of oil in 200 miles!

I had an '88 300ZX and while it was pretty quick and handled OK, it was no match at all for my 03 350Z. You did not say what year 300ZX you have but those things were HEAVY. A guy in our local Z-car club has an early 90's 300TT
and on our fall ride last year, I stayed on his bumper all afternoon, and he is a pretty good driver.

mine is not stock, i have headers, intake, exhaust, underdrive pully, lightweight flywheel? and a good clutch and had good tires.

No offense but he didn't try. This is not an ego trip or anything alike. The 300zx is slow. You could launch the 350 in 2 nd gear and slank a NA 300zx. Its just no comparision.

He wasn't racing or couldn't drive at all. It's possible you beat it but you beat the DRIVER not the car.

I have an idea, why not have a race on foot first to each racers car, turn on engine inorder to test which car starts first and then the racing begins? Oh well just a thought. :)

what would that accomplish? are you trying to say that my 2+2 is old and dosent start up fast? My starts up like it did back in 1991. and if i wanted to race to the car, i would of joined track and field team.
