Winter parked?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I got my roadster back in august and just love it!
I don't have an indoor garage and due to VERY unforseen circumstances I had to leave the country with my Z parked outside all winter!
I had my neighbour remove the snow from the roof but I want to know if it stood still outside for approx. 2 months what do I need to do to get it back up to speed and is this bad?
BTW, when I returned, the car wouldn't start and it looks like the battery is totally dead, do I have to change it or will a boost and a charge do the trick?
Advice please ...
A:

Do not boost the battery. Remove it and get it charged and if it will not charge replace it. If you attempt to boost the battery you might fry the computer or some of the sensors. I had the radio in the Corvette blown up by having the car jumped. THe radio worked but the memory board had to be replaced. It cost $300 to get the Bose repaired.

Thanks for the advice. May just take it to my buddy and get it charged to see if it is still good.
Any comments on if the fluids are still good or any other things i should look into?
How about the tires?

Just took my Z out of storage last week. It was put away for 5 months. It also wouldn't start so I jumped started, and vroom..... it started right away. All i had to do was reset the clock and the radio. A budy afterwords told me I should've detached the cables connecting the battery, oh well leason learnt.
As far as fluids go, 2 months is nothing to worry about. Best thing to do is go in for a quick oil change and thats about all.

I stored mine last year and it is stored right now, september 1st until may 1st. total of 8 months. I didn't charge the battery I did jump start it too last year and no problem start right up. I keep mine in the garage how ever it's not a heated garage and still way too cold inside.

Speaking from experience.....
If you disconnect the 350Z battery for more than 48 hours, or if it goes dead for more than 48 hours, the main computer will issue a "power intteruption" code causing the "check engine" light to come on. That would require a trip to a dealer to reset the computer. This happened to me last winter.
This winter I got a battery maintainer with a chip that holds the battery at peak charge. It is not a "float charger" that can boil or overcharge the battery. Parked it at the end of October, started it yesterday. Perfect, battery like new, no problems!
Parking the car outdoors all winter is not advisable as moisture is the enemy and there is no way to keep away from it outdoors. A clean, dry garage is the best bet.
Change the oil and hope for the best!
