The G35 reps said nothing about a break in period, it is precationary, more so just to make sure you don't abuse it before it has time to settle in properly. We even mentioned it, and they said the G35 doesn't need a break in at all.

Scientifically/technically I don't know the answer, probably because there is none related to that. More so it's 'probably' because the average g35 owner does not have the same driving habits of the average 350z owner if you know what I mean.

Now that was a VERY interesting read that makes perfect sense! My bro had a Taurus SHO, and interestingly was told the same thing when he had the engine (which is a VERY GOOD ONE - Yamaha design with multivalves I believe) rebuilt. 50K later - and no problems!
