Well I just got my tires replaced by Nissan. Sad thing is the dealership admitted that I will be back with problems.
The interesting thing is he said the European cars with the Nismo Suspension coils are NOT experiencing feathering.

i had an oil change today at the dealership. The service guy said that the he has replaced tires on the 2004 model as well as 2003. No perm fix yet. He said just to come in and get your tires replaced. I asked him what if this happens again since no fix. He said just come in again. I guess we just keep coming whenever the feathering repeats itself and get new tires.

Have 350 Z conv. About 5 mo. old with 2000 miles. When can I expect tire problems?

Feathering tire problems sound like you're driving a 4 wheel drive truck with off road tires on the freeway.
However, your Z is really only going 30mph or less and when braking.
If you got it, you know it!

whats tire feathering?

I have an 03 Touring that I bought in Dec 02. I didn't notice any sign of feathering (truck tire sound) until 12 months (9k miles). I think it has to do with the type of driving you do...highway or city. Most of mine are in the city.
The first tire swap worked for about 3k miles...they did the second swap and didnt come close to working.
