TSB mileage LIMIT

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Here's an interesting one...
(man I haven't posted here in like a year...)
was aware of the TSB regarding tire feathering...
knew my Z was having problems with it...
so I brought it in... now the dealer is telling me that they won't replace the tires because the car has too many miles on it. (14.7K). Further more they tell me that Nissan won't let them replace tires for cars with over 5K on them.
Anyone else heard that ridiculous story...
damn... now I have to call Nissan - file a complaint...
gonna be a lot of hold music in my future... let me know if anyone else has heard such crap

just got approval for new front tires from nissan. reported the problem at 8000 miles. align and rotation done. problem came back at 12,000 car delivery date was 8/31/03. a year and a half ago.

It's just typical dealer BS. Call Nissan (1 800 NISSAN1) and get a file started - they'll replace the tires at least once - more than once acording to some owners. Nissan replaced my tires at 15,000 miles and 13 months. The dealer will probably be required by Nissan to perform the rotation/alignment TSB prior to any replacement - at least they did on mine.

I still have a voicemail of a Nissan Rep who left me a message over a year ago when i got my car. His name is Jeremy Rice. Forgot the number, but he is with Consumer Affairs. Call the 1800 number and ask for him if u need to complain.

I got mine replaced and alignment at 10,000. No tire rotation, no hassles. I guess it depends on the dealer. I get my oil change and checkup there as well, so that may have encouraged them to deal with the problem straight away. I am seeing the problem again though.

I'm getting my front tires replaced this week for the first time (15,500 miles.) The road noise was unbearable so I took it in and the dealer did the alignment and told me about the feathering which I knew I had. Initially the dealer said they could not help me with getting the tires replaced due to the mileage so I called Nissan Corp and they started a file and made my dealership fill out paperwork for the warranty dept at Nissan Corp asking for a "nature of goodwill" warranty replacement done on my tires. So don't believe any service manager who says nothing can be done due to the mileage. Call Nissan Corp directly and the problem should be taken care of.
