Must not be tire problem

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

welcome to 1 year ago... glad you could join us all here in the present. lol. (sorry it was just too easy)
A:

not true. the problem will still appear even after alignment.
A:

OK.... Here is my story...
at 4000 miles, my fronts were replaced and aligned... at 11000, it came back. Alaignment was still perfect. All 4 tires were replaced by Nissan with the Michelin Pilot Sports.... at 23000 miles, all wear is normal and no feathering......

I've heard that those Pilot Sports were the way to go. I plan on 4 of those next year. The tread wear I believe is 225 vs. the stock 144.

Wish Pilots would solve the problem. My pilots started showing feathering at 3K miles. Alignment was fine.

i think it's the tread style issue, personally. i think those tires with the detached treadblocks near the edge (has a groove running around the tire near the edge) allows an unusual pivot to occur during brake/turn maneuvers.
looking at the eagle's, they have a style that does not have that kind of groove. instead, the treadblocks [fig. 1, 1 & 2] (i think that's what they're called) run from the edge all the way to the inside. the rubber can't turn and pivot. same is true for the yoko's.
i think these tires may have a better chance, enough so it's my next set. soon.

What great attachments!
It looks like the Eagles have the most aggressive tread pattern.

Great post and attachments. This argument makes sense to me. However, I have now nearly 28K on my original Bridgestones, and while they're loud, they're not worn out yet! I can see the feathering, but they're not gone. I think that 350ZNewbie's theory, combined with the fact that the ball joint geometry on the Z is rather unique may fully explain the disparities between people's experiences. I'm going with the Eagles when the time comes - though I have to say that other than the noise I've been happy with the Bridgestones.

don't handle worth a damn either. i replaced some an an Audi TT with Falken FK 451s that are great tires for the $. Consumer rates Falken ST 115s as BEST BUY but not as agressive as 451s
