I usually use sandpaper for the really caked on dirt.

Thanks for the informative and the not so clever attempts to get me to do something stupid posts.
I've washed a car before, I'm not some idiot who just up and bought himself a new Z... I just wanted to know what some of the real enthusiasts used.
geez...

SO get Zaino!!! If you want a quick week end shine buy the gold class from Meguires. If you want what the pros use then use a 3m glaze or a Zep glaze with a polisher. You aren't going to find the best wax at your local walmart buddy.

Sorry photoz! I was just making fun of 280zxfan's post. I sure hope he was joking.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Zaino products.
A:
well technically dish detergent like dawn is good if your going to wash your car and then wax it, because it will strip the old wax off. Ive heard many people reccomend dawn washing before you wax and clay bar.
A:
Well, I'm going to get in on the Zaino action for sure...
Info about what towels to use and the sort has been helpful as well, as I don't want to scrape the surface as I'm cleaning.
What about tire/wheel cleaner, what do you guys recommend?
On another note... I'm on day 5 and I've already got 2 chips in the front fascia!! Until I can find a dealer for/scape up the funds for a clear bra, do I dare think about getting the chips fixed? Or should I just wait until right before I install the bra to get the whole lot of them fixed (I'm guessing I'll get more)

A:
Also... does anyone think getting the regular bra in the meantime is worth the cost to try and prevent anymore chips from happening before I install the clearbra?
$100 now saves me from $X from more chips?
Is it worth the hassle of having to remove it/let it dry/re-install if I get caught in the rain with it??
Thanks in advance...

I've got the Nissan bra and the way its designed rain only gets under it a littlle at the left and reight ends near the button snap, same with dirt (its sand here in the low desert of So. Ca). It's well cushioned and its better than withiout one. The paints so soft, it does't take much to pit it. I noticed a lot of hood pitting cuz the bra does't cover the hood. Use the bra on long trips and during our windy seasons.

I recommend Turtle Wax Tire Wax. Stuff is fabulous for tires, and doesn't sling goo on your pinchwelds!
