as long as it's just the front bumper that got damaged it shouldnt be that much. they can be had for like $300 plus another few hundred for paint.

I had a trusty old B210 Datsun that I bought new and drove for 18 years as a to work car. No one ever put a ding in it! But let me park my performance cars anywhere and it seems people are in some sort of competition to see who can park closest to me where I can't even open my door and they ding my door if they get half a chance, ha but true. And I park as far as away from everyone in the lot as possible. I have already posted about what was done to my first real nice performance car on another thread, so I don't want to relive the nightmare again. Hell I bought that car by loading freight trucks out in the HOT sun in MEMfus on President's Island while I was also working my poor sorry a$$ through college. It was so hot in those trucks, whose metal absorbs all the sun's heat, that I could pour water outta my boots at the end of the day. In the winter it was colder than a witch's titty in an iron bra! If people could only know and appreciate how hard I worked to have a nice car............
Anyway, you have my sympathy and I am doing the Vulcan mind meld to send you good Karma for the pain you are in with your 350Z and which you do not deserve. I have it on good faith that God is a car guy and will reward you for the unjust pain you bear. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I was inside, which prevented me from doing anything immediately. I was dumbstruck, I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I appreciate the mind meld, haha, I was thinking the whole experience was something like Klingon Pain Stick therapy. LOL. I wish it were only going to cost me $300 for the bumper cover, plus $200 for paint. Only if. But, I am sure it's going to be closer to $1000. The part is easily $400-500. I'll know by next week.
I also work hard as hell for what my beautiful sports car, and yeah, it's amazing that the Passat is dent/scratch free, yet the 350Z I currently have and the one I previously had were like magnets for misshaps. Here in NYC I've learned some powerful lessons, like NEVER parking in the streets, parallel parking is an accident waiting to happen. It's amazing, but most folks just can't parallel park. And, taxi's just love pulling up real close so their passengers will swing that door out wide and ding up your door.
I'll post the estimate once I get it.

i was parked at school one time last year. My friend kinda went over the line in the parking lot, so i ended up goin over the next line. But where we park, nobody ever parks. My other friend parked a space over from me. Well i come out of school and somebody parked right in between us(not a student). I had to go in through the passenger door just to get in. How that person got out, i have no idea. Either they climbed out or went out through the passenger door. No ding in the door atleast. But they still ended up having Mcdonalds food all over there car, i didn't do it though.

just unbelievable the hide of people! they either run, or get out and abuse the heck out of you.
I had an incident at college late last year, I was parking and a vehicle passed me, and ran into the front bumper (of my then 240sx). Three guys from Zimbabwe got out of the car, surrounded me and proceeded to cuss at me, refusing to give me their details. If it wasn't for a passing bus, they prolley would've decked me or ran off. I don't drive my Z to campus.

I'd quickly get the gun out of my car and give her some damage to repair on her car. Seriously though, I would have made her sorry one way or another, probably through the legal system. Hit and run is no joke if you press charges the right way. I guess only in houston and austin are their cameras basically everywhere to combat this.

zlover57... don't sugar coat it like that. Tell us how you really feel. Seriously though, I agree with you TOTALLY. Your comments are right on and well said! Hit and run is a serious offense and you hit the nail on the head. And right square on the head at that. That woman should have been arrested and given some serious penalties as well as having to pay for the loss of property and expenses of restoring said property (like a rental car while the car is being repaired).

Is it any surprise to all of you that I was getting gas in New Jersey when all this occurred? I'm going Monday to get a quote from a guy who has been fixing Z's since the 70's. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long, no more than 2-3 days away from my beautiful 350Z, I can't stand to be parted from my Z. Only thing is, why don't the bumper covers come painted from the factory. I can understand having some which aren't painted, but at least during the years while still in production, factory ordered bumpers should be easy to get. Anyway, I sure hope the shop is able to match Daytona Blue. It worries me since it's such a weird color, and it seems to change hues depending on the angle of the car, lighting, etc. Other Z owners with Daytona Blue will know what I'm talking about.
