DFW... i have an Xtra, with warp feed, progressive ported barrel... i'm looking to get an ESP trigger and superfly bolt...
after that... my gun mods will be done... gotta get my tactical gear done... LBV, Remote tank, Tactical pants, and stuff like that...
i would love to target practice in my back yard but there are wayyy too many nosey neighbors in my block to do that... people would start to think there was some sort of gun fight going on...

Yeah, just a newbie in the paintball world. I myself just purchased a spyder pilot for my starter gun and a J&J ceramic barrel. To my surprise, I didn't chop one ball the whole 4.5 hrs we were out woodsballing. My brother got an A5 for almost triple the price and had the same results!! Makes me wonder if I should even upgrade....

same thing i was thinking... omi... no matter how expensive your gun is... you are not going to change the dynamics of the paintball... it's a big sphere, that has edges on the seals... so at the speed that they are launched the edges catch air and pull it in unpredictable ways...
so your best bet is to get a good gun that suits you and get good quality paint... I personally use Core Tournament (Perfect brittle)
i read in an online article that no matter who makes your barrel, gun, or bolt... they all basically operate the same way... there only being small differences in flight...
progressive porting puts a spin on the ball... my best bet is that it will place the edges of the paintball on all sides via the spin so that it will have a more similar resistance... but that is just my guess...
when shooting in my backyard i can definately tell a difference... as opposed to the stock barrel...
