yeah i'm still smiling... cause for once it was worth it... or i deserved it... one or the other...
posted was 35... he charged me with 70 but i was actually going 100... he really didn't know how fast i was going... he asked but i said i wasn't looking... and he put a "P" on the ticket where it says "radar", "Laser" or "Urban" so i assume that means "Pacing"
anyways the guy wasn't a dick... he was very polite... i was very curtious, and polite, and even thanked the officer for giving my my first ticket that i really feel like i deserved...

I got one when I was 20, none since then. I race sometimes, not often, and only if the road is empty. Maybe once every couple weeks I'll find one that I take up.

I beg your pardon, i'm not braggin... i believe i have already admited that it was stupid and absolutely my mistake, now what i was happy about is that i did deserve it, and i do consider myself lucky to not be in jail, and believe me this is the end of my racing cause as you can plainly see, i don't need any more tickets... i've just about supported some of the police stations single handedly...
Insurance will hopefully stay the same, i always hire an attorney to get my tickets dismissed... and i haven't had one in DFW in a long while... so with any amount of luck this one will pass easily and i can resume my normal life...
i'd also like to add that i've been keeping my nose clean for the past few months, not speeding or racing... for the longest i have't really wanted to, for some reason it's just not that appealing to me anymore... maybe it's the money... i would much rather use the money for my favorite sport... paintballing... but hey like i said it is my stupid fault...
and no the other guy was passed up... the cop said that he pulled me over BECAUSE i was winning... which i can see the logic... more than likely the person winning is going the fastest... and more than likely being more dangerous...
SO...
bottom line for you anti racer people... personally i can care less if you guys are happy or not but just for my own damn piece of mind from public confession i'm simply done racing... it's dangerous, and one day i don't want my family splattered because some kid was being stupid... thanks for your comments...

When you know that 45% of all drivers in any given state have been ticketed for speeding, it means that probably more than 60-75% speed (not everyone gets caught). That's a pretty high ratio.

zdood... those stats are scary only if you agree with speed limits. the government makes us all law breakers by making speed limits too low. i think 100% of speed limits are too low.

as long as a vehicle remains in control of the operator... however experienced he/she may be, it is safe...
however, the moment that an officer notices that a particular vehicle is out of control they should take all necessary actions...
I read an article in Road and Track once, i believe it was one of the editors suggesting that there be a competency test, to not only test your understanding of traffic flow but also car dynamics and handling characteristics...
he also suggested that there be a particular lane for "above average" drivers... because obviously, a 80 year old person or new driver 16 year old is not going to have the same reflexes or knowledge of vehicles as an experienced NASCAR driver...
On the other hand, I took the defensive driving course that is available at Blockbuster... It is highly recommended... the scene of it is stupid but the information within is great... i just wish everyone on the road would watch it and take it to heart...
i'm not going to go into all of it but it definately made me see alot of the errors of my driving... so it was a well spent 40 bucks...

static what color 240 were you racing? Also what part of DFW were you in?

umm... i don't quite remember... he was behind me the whole time...lol...
i think it was beige or some light brown maybe... honestly, the whole memory of the car was thrown out the window by the sudden "unreal" feeling of the cop saying "Hey guess what... it's your lucky day you get to go to jail..." "Go ahead and step out of your car."
That was one hell of a wake up call!!!
I was in central Arlington at the time... On Cooper street... between UTA and Colorado streets...

I definately agree... I wouldn't mind taking a live driving test... hopefully closed safety/performance course... especially to ride in the higher speed, lanes... which also are hopefully filled with similar competent drivers that understand the need to get where you need to go at a reasonable pace...
these faster lanes would have to be shielded from the other lanes though... so that an accident from either side will not affect the other side...
as for the sunday cruisers... and lolly-gaggers... they can run in the regulated slow lanes...
but i do believe that we already have tiered licenses... if i'm not mistaken... which more than likely i am (cause i don't really know the license system) we have a,b,c class licenses... also CDL a,b,c classes... M class for motorcycles... and such...
anybody know more about this subject?
They still don't qualify you to ride in a special lane but hey... there might one day be a possibility...

What year? The guy I know up there has a black 97 or 98 240sx on 18" wheels Apexi N1 style exhaust large FMIC large turbo built SR and pretty much no offense it would have blown your doors off. He also owns a grey 92 300zx TT. Hes got a couple nice cars and had a nice shop going down there but thats another story.

either that was him... and he just wasn't driving good... or it wasn't him and the guy sucked...
he was behind about 1 car length...the bottom was definately black but i really believe the top was tan or something... exhaust had to have been apexi N1 style...with rims don't know what size... not a bad looking car IMO
I wish he would have won... then i wouldn't have a ticket according to the cop...

Justin yup. It is a pretty nice area. Only real reason I go is Whataburger, Taco Cabana, and Taco Beuno. Though hopefully ill be back in DFW in September for a few days in the Z.

cool... but like i've said already, i'm completely opposed to street racing now... mostly i stay our of dallas and only on the east side of Fort Worth... my main areas i play in are Arlington, a little of Bedford and a little of Euless, used to go to school on the far side of Fort Worth right by Roanoke, and Haltom City... I work in the DFW Airport, so i know the airport fairly well... as for any other parts of the DFW metroplex... i claim complete ignorance...
I also like the campgrounds around the Grapevine Lake... especially the ones in Flower Mound...
